These immersive experiences combine breathtaking landscapes, fascinating history, hikes, swims and gourmet outback picnics, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the Kimberley’s rugged beauty without the hassle of planning or driving.
GUIDED 4WD ADVENTURES
LENNARD GORGE
Depart Mount Hart for a scenic 1 hour drive to Lennard Gorge. Embark on a challenging 3km hike through rocky and steep terrain, rewarded with breathtaking views of the gorge. For lunch, enjoy a gourmet picnic in an outback oasis.
BELL GORGE
Depart Mount Hart for a scenic 2 hour drive to Bell Gorge. Enjoy a moderate 1km walk over uneven, rocky terrain to reach the gorge. swim at the top pool or choose an optional 500m rock climb down to the bottom pool for a swim to cool off. Both offer stunning views of the surrounding cliffs and cascading waterfalls. For lunch, enjoy a gourmet picnic in an outback oasis.
WINDJANA GORGE & TUNNEL CREEK
Depart Mount Hart for a 2.5 hour scenic drive to Windjana Gorge, where a 1 hour guided hike takes you past 100 metre limestone cliffs. Look out for freshwater crocodiles basking on the sandy banks and diverse wildlife.
Following this, enjoy a 1.5 hour exploration of Tunnel Creek. Walk through a 750-metre tunnel, through shallow water sections and admire ancient Aboriginal rock art within the cave. For adventurous guests, there's an opportunity for optional swimming inside the tunnel. For lunch, enjoy gourmet picnic in an outback oasis.
GALVANS GORGE & ADCOCK GORGE
Depart Mount Hart for a 3 hour drive along the famous Gibb River Road. Enjoy breakfast on the go, on a scenic adventure to Galvans Gorge, one of the most accessible and breathtaking gorges along the Gibb River Road. A gentle 1km walk leads through shady vegetation to a large, horseshoe-shaped pool fed by a year-round waterfall. Swim, relax under the boab trees, and take in ancient Aboriginal rock art on the gorge walls. Perfect for a refreshing dip and scenic stop.
After exploring Galvans Gorge, continue your 4WD adventure to Adcock Gorge, a hidden gem with lily-covered ponds and a spring-fed swimming hole framed by towering gorge walls. Enjoy a short 600m walk in and swim beneath a waterfall, surrounded by lush ferns and tranquil scenery. An outback picnic lunch is provided before returning to the lodge with a final stop at the iconic Mount Barnett Roadhouse for a quick treat on the journey back to Mount Hart.
